FlorenceAdooni
Ghanaian singer Florence Adooni is the voice of Fra Fra culture and one of the most captivating artists in West Africa’s new highlife generation. Raised in the city of Kumasi, she began her musical journey in the local gospel scene, but her international breakthrough came in 2021 with the release of Mam Pe’ela Su’ure (My Heart Is Pure) – an underground gem that led to over 70 concerts across Europe.
Adooni’s music is created in collaboration with producer Max Weissenfeldt and a young ensemble of top musicians from Kumasi. Her sound blends the flowing guitar lines and radiant rhythms of Kumasi highlife with lush vocal harmonies and the soulful, falsetto-driven style rooted in Fra Fra tradition.
Adooni has also built bridges across continents, including a memorable collaboration with Finnish multi-instrumentalist Jimi Tenor on the track Vocalize My Luv, recorded in Berlin. It’s a testament to her open, genre-defying approach and her growing presence on the global stage.
