EGS

This year’s Flow presents a large painting by Finland’s most internationally acclaimed graffiti artist, EGS. EGS’s career began after the mid-1980s, inspired by the first wave of graffiti art in Finland, and his work has since been seen in over 50 countries. EGS is known for his stylised world maps, where geography merges with the letters of his artist name. In recent years, EGS has expanded his work into sculpture and glass art.

The painting seen at Flow is a collaboration with Helsingin Sanomat, and EGS will also feature in HS’s Musta laatikko show on Saturday. The artist’s work will also be on display this summer at the Embassy of EGS exhibition at the Didrichsen Art Museum, where the museum space will be transformed into an embassy of the fictional EGS Republic.
