Orkidea and Lil Tony have been central figures building the Helsinki electronic music scene since the 1990s. Orkidea has been one of Finland’s most acclaimed DJs internationally since the 1990s. Known for his style blending house and trance, he was a staple of Helsinki’s electronic music scene as early as the mid-1990s, and his career took off globally after the release of his classic trance track Unity in 1999. Orkidea has played thousands of gigs on six continents, at festivals as well as iconic clubs such as Fabric in London, KitKat in Berlin, and Café del Mar in Ibiza. In Helsinki, he is currently a resident at the popular Trance Bar parties at Post Bar, and his recent studio work includes singles, remixes, and a Pure Trance series compilation produced with Solarstone.

Lil Tony is a co-founder and programmer of Flow Festival, known for his long DJ and production career, as well as for various clubs in Helsinki, such as Soda and Kerma in the millennium era, and for currently running Kaiku, Ääniwalli, Kuudes linja, and Siltanen. He started DJ’ing already in 1989, and his sets often echo his long history in Detroit- and Chicago-influenced house and techno, dating back to the warehouse parties of his youth. As a DJ and selector, Lil Tony is always on the lookout for discoveries across electronic music, and his productions have been released by highly regarded labels such as Innervisions, Running Back, and Guidance. Orkidea and Lil Tony have collaborated on memorable club nights such as Jack, starting at Kerma in 2002, and Helsinki Techno City at Redrum in the 2000s, with Eliot Ness and Mr.A. Despite their long collaboration, Flow Festival will witness a truly rare occasion: the duo’s first-ever b2b gig.
