London-based producers Skream & Benga were among the pioneers of dubstep in the early 2000s. The two teenagers met in a record shop in Croydon and began making new bass-heavy music together, releasing tracks such as The Judgement in 2003 that helped dubstep break through. Both have continued their music careers together and separately, releasing dubstep classics such as Skream’s Midnight Request Line and Benga’s Night, produced with Coki.
Skream & Benga played together for the first time in more than 10 years in October 2023 and have since continued their journey together in both the DJ booth and the studio. They have recently remixed Charli XCX’s track Von Dutch, and You’re A Star by Fred again.. and Amyl And The Sniffers. Skream & Benga’s latest single, Midnight Control, with vocals from Emily Makis, was released in November.
